The Joy of Books (stop-motion video)

January 15, 2012 4 comments

Hi Everyone,

I found this on Yahoo (http://comedy.video.yahoo.com/?lid=24038736&vid=27876460). Sean Ohlenkamp and his wife, Lisa Blonder Ohlenkamp made a stop motion video called ‘The Joy of Books’. It was a viral hit on the internet. They used Type Books (a bookstore) and for 4 nights, they would rearrange the books and make them into a stop motion video. I got the facts from http://www.quillandquire.com/blog/index.php/2012/01/10/meet-sean-ohlenkamp-creator-of-the-viral-video-the-joy-of-books/.

The first part reminds me a bit of Harry Potter.

He did a smaller version with his own bookshelf:

I also liked his other videos like Cat Vs. Pinata and his ads for the Toronto Zoo.

Marbles

October 16, 2011 1 comment

Hi Everyone,

I was reading the news when I found an article about the most expensive marble. I realized Marbles are science (how they’re made and etc.) so I would like to share some information about marbles with everyone. Another thing I also realized is that we don’t play with things such as marbles (Well, most of us don’t). We’re too obssesed with playing things such as PSPs and Wii but kids our age a hundred years ago, played with marbles like how we play with computer games.

Here are a few links on some articles about marbles:

Here’s an article about marbles and their collectors price:

Here’s an article about marbles:

Here’s some Youtube Videos explaining about Marbles:

This video is about how marbles are made.

This is a Howcast video on how to play marbles. Actually, it’s one of the many ways you can play marbles.

This Too Shall Pass

Hi Everyone,

I found this video on my sister’s class blog (http://blogs.nist.ac.th/3ak/) and I thought that I it was related to science because it seems the whole video was one big science experiment. It’s actually a music video though.

Please tell me what you think about the video.

Asian Wake Park Tour – Second Stop (Singapore)

September 28, 2011 12 comments

This is a video of the second stop of Asian Wake Park tour.

I got first place for Mens Amatuer Novice Wakeboard and Mens Wakeskate.

The guy who came second was the same guy who came second in the last stop.

For the last stop in the Philippines, I have to do Pro Wakeskate and advanced Wakeboard. The reason I did Novice was because my points kept adding on. For Wakeboard I won for both rounds and for Wakeskate, I lost the first round but won in the Finals.

I wakeboard and wake skate because it’s my  hobby and I want to do this for the rest of my life. I started wakeboarding and wakeskating a year ago. I ride the Liquid Force Flx and the LTD Watson bindings. I usually ride from 9:00 in the morning til 8:00 in the night.

These are the trophies I won from the competition.

My favourite piano songs

September 25, 2011 4 comments

Hi Everyone,

These are my favourite piano songs even though I don’t play the piano myself.

My friend Patty introduced me to this song in music class last year when she was playing it.

Like Jimin, I enjoy the song “He’s a Pirate”. I especially like the first part of it.

I also like the non-piano version of “He’s a Pirate”.

Fun Science-Charlie McDonnell

April 20, 2011 6 comments

There is a Youtuber called Charlie McDonnell-or better known as his Youtube Username ‘Charlieissocoollike’. Charlie posts videos about some different things and things he thinks about. However there are 2 videos on science that he has made.
It is in the ‘Fun Science’ series. The 2 videos are called ‘Fun Science-The moon’ and ‘Fun Science-Light’. I thought about it and the video about light can help us develop an understanding.
In this video Charlie mainly talks about the ‘Doppler effect’ which is the change of sound by distance, and the change of light when moving. This may give you some information, and it can help a bit with our unit on science. I hope you enjoy the video!
