    Hi 6SS,

I think the qoute is telling us about a chain reaction. If someone makes an idea up one day the next day they will tell their friend who will do the amething and it will get so bog that it might influence someone or more! This is how information gets spread, one person hears something and tells their friend and it goes on and on and on until someone in the news hears it and spreads it to the whole world. This chain reaction happens everyday at school, one example is when Zola broke his arm the football group told their friends who told their friends who told their friends until everyone in Y6 knew about it! Chain retains can be different though you do not have to talk you could dance, show an example or make a poster, the possibilities are endless but you aim for it to effect people so much that they tell all their friends and keep passing it on.

    Cheers,

    Billy

      Heyy Billy and 6ss,

I really agree with you I drew it on a piece of paper because its easier. It also reminds me about the pond where it is very still but if you throw a rock into it the pond, it builds ring after ring. So For example Yesterday an idea was mine (I kept it to myself) Then I share it to my friend, And now the biggest ring the idea is now spread to the whole society.

I really like this “chain reaction” concept, Billy. Do you think there should be a chain reaction from every idea?

    Hi 6SS,

I think this quote is about sharing ideas with everyone instead of keeping them to ourselves.

I think this way because I think the quote means: “yesterday an idea is mine,” means that yesterday I had an idea or spark, “today it is yours” means that today I shared my idea with you and it inspired you to have different idea and “tomorrow it belongs to the whole world.” means that you are willing to take action and make that idea into reality to show everyone your idea – kind of like a revolution.

    • February 29, 2012 at 5:33 pm

I agree with you. It does mean sharing your idea. This quote helps us with our exhibition also any work because it tells you to share your ideas, Express yourself.

        I totally agree!!!

      March 1, 2012 at 7:57 am

Why do you think people are so unwilling to share their ideas sometimes?

      • March 4, 2012 at 7:10 pm

I think sometimes people are unwilling to share their ideas because they want to keep their ideas to themselves and they are afraid someone might steal their idea.

    Hi,
I think it means if you start a good idea people will catch on and it will become a big thing. It may even change lives. I think it is a little like a spark.

“Yesterday an idea is mine,(he came up with an idea) today it is yours (he shows it to a few people) and tomorrow it belongs to the whole world (the whole word finds out).”

    Caitie

    • February 29, 2012 at 5:15 pm

      Hi,
I agree with Caitie’s idea. It starts with a little spark and it spreads. It becomes a fire. It will spread to the whole world.
So basically it means that if you spread your idea to your friends, and your friends will spread it to someone else. Then everybody will know your idea.
You should spread your ideas to the world so your idea becomes a huge fire which affects people. If it’s a good idea, it will be really useful to people.
This quote is a very interesting quote because it looks like it’s complicated but if you actually read it closely the meaning is so obvious.

    • February 29, 2012 at 5:31 pm

I also agree with you. I also think if you work hard, people will like your idea and the idea will spread.

    • Mr. Sam
      March 1, 2012 at 7:57 am

Yes, it is just like a spark. But some sparks don’t turn into fires… why is that?

  4. Stefan
    February 29, 2012 at 5:09 pm

I think that this quote means that yesterday I had an idea, today I told you my idea so now you now it and tomorrow I will share my idea with others so the whole world knows my idea.

I agree with billy that this is a chain reaction.

    • February 29, 2012 at 5:19 pm

      Hi Stefan,

can you explain more why you agree with Billy?

      See you,

      Vicky

    • Mr. Sam
      March 1, 2012 at 7:58 am

Can you add any new thoughts to this conversation though, Stefan?

  5. February 29, 2012 at 5:24 pm

I agree with Andrea this quote is about your sharing ideas with everyone and not keeping it to yourself.

It first starts of with that person getting the idea and then they soon tell others about it, it is like a spark because it first starts off small and then it explodes into something big. This also inspires other people to do it too so it turns into a chain reaction like Billy said.

      March 1, 2012 at 7:59 am

Should all ideas always be shared with everyone?

  6. Zola
    February 29, 2012 at 5:34 pm

    Hi 6SS,

I think the quote means to share you work to somebody else and that person shares to another until a lot of people find out. I think it is connected to the diagram Mr. Sam made because in the first bit of the quote it says “Yesterday an idea is mine,” I think that means the inner part of the circle. The next part of the quote it says “today it is yours” I think that means the circle around the inner circle that means he or she has told some more people and the next circle around means the whole world knows of what the person did.

What stops people from sharing their ideas?

  7. February 29, 2012 at 5:35 pm

    Hi everyone!

I think this quote means that one person first gets an idea then the next day he expresses himself to his family or his close friends. But then after some progress and thinking such as ‘Will this work? How will it work?’ They will discuss that the idea should be put into action. Also I think he said ‘tomorrow is your idea’ because he wants us to think about it and add on so that actually becomes your idea. I think also means that since we know the idea now; he wants us to improve it more so it could mean we should think about it too which then makes it your idea. I think ‘Now in the world’ means ours and his idea got published.
In conclusion, I also think this is a progress of inventing a new thing such as flying shoes, etc.

    See you,

    Vicky

I like the concept of the idea changing as it spreads, being improved by other people’s thinking.

    Hi 6SS,
I think the quote means that the idea gets shared more and more everyday when you put it into action and then the idea spreads bigger and bigger if he/she really cares and put it into action. All ideas are good but you need to be able to but the idea into action to be successful at what you are doing. I maybe also means that everyone in the world has good ideas but what really show what kind of person you are is being able to convert an idea in success maybe it doesn’t have to be successful but at least you know what to do next time. You can archive more if you put the idea into action if you dun put the idea into action it won’t develop.

    Hello 6SS,

I think this quote is a powerful quote an we should all understand it. I agree with Vicky that he first gets an idea then the next day he expresses himself to his family or his close friends but I also think that another person is expressing himself the first day then the next day it is another person’s idea the next day then the idea belongs to the whole world. I am a bit confused by what it means tommorow it is the whole worlds I think that means both the ideas connect together and then the whole world knows about the person expressing himself. I totally agree with Zola that it connects to the Spiro that Mr. Sam drew because it is an idea then it gets out. This reminds me of what Mr. Sam said that day about taking off the lid of the bottle and letting all the things out.

    See you tommorow,

    Tamanna

    • Mr. Sam
      March 1, 2012 at 8:16 am

Yes, it is like taking the lid off a bottle and letting it out. If an idea stays in the bottle then it will never spread, and we will never know if it is a good idea or a bad idea!

    Hi 6SS

    I agree with Andrea but……..
I think this is what Jamie Oliver is trying to do he’s been coming with the idea of doing a food revolution in Huntington trying to get people to be on his side and follow him. Many people were inspired by him he also took action and did the think act reflect cycle. And now his ideas of the food revolution is very powerful because almost every single person knows him because of the food revolution.

This is true… I read a lot of news stories about how food is getting better ion the USA and how more and more people are thinking about what they eat and where their food comes from.

    Hi
I think the quote means that when you do some thing good the next day you can do it better and the next next day you can show your work to the world and I mean when you are doing work it means by creativity

P.S I wrote it quite short because I am really busy

    Gina 🙂

      March 1, 2012 at 8:19 am

It is nice to think that ideas get better and better as they grow.

  12. February 29, 2012 at 7:06 pm

I think the quote means the first day you came up with an idea that you think is good. You tell somebody else your idea, they say it’s good and take it and make it their own. The next day it becomes their idea, they took the idea and made it be They tell many people, and the people take it and makes it better. The next day it’s the whole worlds idea.

But some people don’t like their things to be changed.
    Yasmin 😀 😉

You’re right, some people don’t like their things to be changed. How do you feel about that?

  13. Mara
    February 29, 2012 at 7:15 pm

I talked to my Mum about this and we both agreed to say that this quote means ‘Generation’ because it goes in a cycle. I agree with Yasmin, like, say i have an idea and share it with someone and then the whole world, and then the next day i have a new idea and then… blah blah blah… it goes on and on and on.
I also heard a quote that my Mum said, “My Father is Yesterday, I am today, You are tomorrow” and i thought that quote is related to this quote.

    Mara (LOL) HAHA.

      February 29, 2012 at 7:18 pm

I agree with Caitie, where she said ‘Its like a spark’ I really agree with that because, an idea is a spark in your brain and when you have an idea you have to share it.

    • Mr. Sam
      March 1, 2012 at 8:39 am

I like that word, “generation”. It makes me think that ideas evolve and grow like a tree grows from a seed – the seed is the idea!

    hi

So What i think that quote means that today the idea is yours so you do your idea so if its cooking something new you do it then the next day some poeple find out so they to that idea then more and more poeple find out then they all do it and as it gets more populair more poeple do it so one day the whole world bought it.

    • Mr. Sam
      March 1, 2012 at 8:40 am

How do people find out about good ideas?

  15. 19vint
    February 29, 2012 at 7:50 pm

    Hi,
I think this means that an idea is best to be shared. I think a good example is Steve Jobs and his i devices. Yesterday he thought of the idea, today he shared it with his team who improved it and ordered production and tomorrow it was introduced to the market.

Konstantin Stanislavsky’s work was very important to the development of the Soviet Union. He was an actor and a theater director, so I believe he conveyed his messages through plays and shows. This is another example of giving an idea to the world. Yesterday he had a message to give and thought up a play to do that. Today he gave the idea to his troupe to rehearse and practice, and tomorrow the message was known to many people( the world.) Rich government people came to see his shows, and if they believed his messages, they would try to spread that concept.

Many famous people can fit this description, like Gandhi, Martin Luther King.

This is connected to our unit because it is about change and revolution. People can only make the change if they have resources, people who can influence other people in a higher position.

This is like the revolution cycle. Yesterday there is a spark (the person comes up with the idea). Today there is energy(he shows it to some people who help make the idea become a possibility). Tomorrow there is a shift in thinking and history ( the world finds out and it causes a change in life).

Your last paragraph is fantastic, you completely sum up the whole concept the exhibition is based on.

  16. February 29, 2012 at 7:57 pm

    Hi everyone!

I think that this quote is showing us the process of spreading ideas and thinkings and a lot more. If someone thinks of something creative, inspiring, interesting, fun and so on we would use that process to spread it around to people. First it will start off with some person’s idea. The next step the person who made the idea tells a few people the idea they thought about, and passes the baton to the next runners. Then the next runners tell more people and his idea keeps growing more and more and it’s starting to get power. For example when there used to be racism in America one person thought of an idea to disobey the orders of the Americans and start doing some things like sitting in the spots where only white people can sit or going into places that only white people can go in or playing with some white people and so on. If your idea spreads like that you could turn strong and powerful. I think it’s a bit related to the quote t “An idea is powerless if it stays inside of you” Nancy Duarte. It’s related because it is about ideas and how powerful some could be. She is saying that you also need to be confident and share your idea (who knows it could be happening in the future).

I love it – a relay race of ideas!!!

  17. Hannah
    February 29, 2012 at 8:22 pm

I think that Konstantin Stanislavsky is trying to tell people that you. Don’t have to keep your ideas to yourself but that you can spread them to be other people’s ideas, and you can let other people have the glory. It might have been like the person who had the idea lets other people have the glory and then they pass the glory on and on until the whole world has the idea.

It might have also been passed on in a negative way like being passed on and every person who hears about it saying that it was their idea because they want the spotlight shining on them, and no one else. They might want people to think that they have the brilliant ideas, but then deep inside the idea is to steal the idea of another person, which usually doesn’t succeed.

The way that I about it, is that someone has an idea, and that gets passed on, but all in a different style, depending on the ir own style, then it practically becomes the or own idea because they expressed it differently from how the other person told them. The world might after that know your perspective.

Another way I think, that is similar to the other one would be that they tell the person the idea and then turn it into more powerful words. It is like Yor story is being edited more and more on the way to success.

I think that quote means like if he invented somthing then he shows it to some people and those people maybe puts it on the internet and then everybody knows. I was thinking somthing like that. Or if It could also mean somthing to do with the internet these days, for example: how fast news goes around the world now that we have computers and the internet, news can be going from USA to China or Thailand to Japan. Lets say that someone makes somthing now and then in the future every body knows after a while. Another example is J.K Rowlings she wrote HARYY POTTER in a local coffe shop then a few month

The quot makes my remember a time when i was young When i lived in sweden. I went to my dads friends house and his name was Lars. I was small and called him in swedish UNLE Lars because i would see him often.
And now every kid in his street call“s him uncle Lars. It was quite funny. And by the way he loves scaring people. So heres a little story about him scaring people:
Once he was going to scare his wife, he was hidding behind the closet door. His wife opend
the door and Lars screamed YAH!!! and you know what happend…. His wife suddenly had a reflect to punch, so she puched him right on the cheek. ok so maybe i got alittle side tracked but other than that that is what i think about the quot.

      Ok bye, Daniel

    Hi everyone!

I think it means that yesterday The idea came in my head today I shared my idea with other people and tomorrow I took action and made the idea into reality. It also means that yesterday i came up with a idea and today maybe someone else thought of it also and then tomorrow the whole world will know about it. An example of this was when the Afghanistan government didn’t let girls do sports, vote and other things men could do. But this women her name is Mehbooba Ahadyar and when she started competing a lot of other girls from Afghanistan did also.
