    Hi Mr.Sam,

What are the main messages in the report?

    1) How the flood is affecting people’s lives and homes

    2) How the flood is affecting the transport on water

    What has happened since?

I think the water level has risen and it the flood has invaded more peoples homes.

    What have you seen?

I’ve seen the water rise higher and since it’s so high, people have to block it with sandbags to avoid it from flooding their homes.

What are the adults around you saying about the flooding?

They are saying things like “The flood may impact inner Bangkok this week” and “This is the worst flood Thailand has ever faced since 50 years.”

    Hi 6SS,

What do you think are the main messages in this video?

I think that the main messages are that there has been a lot of selling along the Chao Praya but the problem has been that there are not as much boats because the flooding has affected the boats. I think that they said it has been one of the worst floods that Thailand has ever had! But a bad thing is that on the news they say it is flooding in Italy as well!

    What has happened since?

I am not entirely shore because I have not been in Thailand, but I think that it has gotten much better in our area and there has not been any more water coming in, but it will take a while for the water to retreat.

    What have you seen?

I have only seen it with my own eyes when I was flying back from Laos I say a lot of flooding but my mum saw more she said that it was not too deep because the colour of the water was a bit blue.

What are the adults around you saying?

My mum says that it is awful and that it will take about 1 month for the outskirts of Bangkok to recover but NIST is helping them by sending food and supplies for them.

    Hi Mr Sam,
I think what the reporter wants to say is that the floods in Thailand are unpredictable and some Thailand residences chose not to come out of there homes but stay to fight the floods and so far they are losing. What is happened so far is that the water has reach viphavadi road, north park and nonthaburi which is near my house.

The baddest thing I seen is people leaving their dogs behind and evacuating to somewhere else and the dogs can’t go anywhere or find any food because it is flooding so other people have to take care them.

What my mom is saying is that the flood might come in nonthaburi if people go and destroy the dam that is blocking the water from coming in and that if people don’t do anything the whole of Thailand might be flooded.

Why are people destroying the dams?

    What are the main messages?
People can’t travel on the river because the water is too high.
Everybody is expecting the water from the north to come to Bangkok and make the water even higher.
Nobody knows how bad it’s going to be and the message from the government is confusing.
For the people that live near the canals are used to having their feet wet but this time it’s different because this time it is lasting for a long time.

    What has happened since?
Some places in Bangkok are flooding.
There’s no more drinking water available.
    People are evacuating.
Schools are closed and some offices are closed.

    What have you seen?
The klong going threw Sathorn road is getting higher.
People are parking their cars on the express way and at the airport.
People have put lots of sandbags.

What are the adults around you saying about the floods?
We don’t know how long it’s going to last, we don’t know what the damages are going to be and when is the food and drinks going to be in the super market.

Great work, Yasmin. Why do you think everybody is so confused about what is happening?

I think the main messages in this report are that the flood is getting worse and the other message is: that the floods are unpredictable and nobody know what really is going to happen.

People’s homes that are on the canal and close to water sources are getting flooded.

I have seen that the road from Hua Hin to Bangkok is flooded and the traffic is getting worse because a lot of people are trying to evacuate and get away from the floods.

My sister showed me this video about the floods witch enplanes why floods are happening.

It’s in Thai with English subtitles.

What are the main messages in this report?

How the flood is badly affecting people’s homes and lives and the other message is that people don’t know what is going to happen.

    What has happened since?

The water level has risen and more homes are being flooded.

    What have you seen?

I haven’t seen much since I left Bangkok but before I left I saw many sandbags around homes.

What are the adults around you saying about the flooding?

They are saying that it will get worse and that it is the worst flood in Thailand for decades.

What are the main messages in the report?

I think the main message is how peoples houses shops or where they work are getting destroyed and in the video I saw how the peoples houses were filled with dirty water and how poor people would have to suffer because of this terrible flood. The flood is getting loads of people to suffer by getting injured or people are dying.

    What has happened since?

I saw a lady in the video saying that the water will probably go higher and it will destroy our homes or shops and lives and I think that this is the worse flood ever cause the dam in Northern Thailand had broken. In the dam the had all weird creatures for example: Crocodiles and snakes.

    What have you seen?

The flood hasn’t come to where I live yet but I have seen the news and on my grandfathers phone I saw a huge large snake that came to someones house through the flood. This is happening because there are these creatures that were in the dam and also many people were keeping snakes at home and heard that there were 84 snakes that people kept and the snakes were also poisonous but the people who were training them had not taken out the poison yet and when the other people got the snake in their house found the snake was eating a rat.

What are the adults around you saying about the flooding?

My mom is saying that people are suffering and we have to stock up a lot of food and water and if the water comes near to my house we might have to evacuate for a few days.

    Enjoy and stay safe!!!
