Our “Essential Agreements” so far

“Include people if they look excluded”

“Think before you act”

“Work peacefully and concentrate”

We will continue to work on our Essential Agreements next week. It is so important to get agreements that we will really try to follow – live it, don’t laminate it!

I think those Essential Agreements are good because it tells you the positive instructions and not negative.

Yes, positive instructions are much more effective than lots of “Don’t do this or that” statements!

I like the ideas of the essential agreements. I think they are good rules. But I think in a few month people will start to forget about it and break it. I think there should be consequences to people who break this rule. For example if they break the rules they have to miss 5 mins of free time in Friday.

“Include people if they look excluded”

I like how that person said it. It’s a positive way instead of a negative way and it’s also a kind way. I think next time they should try to make it into a telling rule instead of a showing rule.

    “Think before you act”

I think that’s like the most important rule. It’s just like using your common scene. I think this is a very very important because if you don’t think when you act in the field and say a really bad word, you could be kicked out of the field or you can even be suspended for a whole one week.

    “Work peacefully and concentrate”

I don’t think we really need that rule because everyone knows and learns it at year 1 that we have to work quietly in order to have concentration. So I kind of disagree with that rule. What do you think Mr. Sam?

Yuki… there are many people in 6SS who don’t know how to work peacefully. They regularly speak too loud, disturb other people and waste time with noisy, irrelevant conversations. So, I love that essential agreement!

    Hi Mr.Sam,

I think the essential agreements are great! Some teachers and people make tons of rules and make you follow them but it’s very hard to because there are too many!

    HI every one

I think the essential agreements were great because it tells you the instruction what we need to do. I think they are good rules because it will help us improve our behavior. But I think that in a few weeks we will start to forget because some of us have bad memories.

Its good we have only a few rules otherwise if there’s too many we will not be able to memorise it too (I agree with Andrea and Yuki)
    Tammy 🙂
