Germany 4-1 England-set up Argentina clash

Germany hammered England 4-1 at Free State Stadium yesterday to set up a meeting with Argentina in the last 8 next saturday. I went around this morning interviewing people about the England loss at Summer School and here are what some said:

“England have the best players in the world but they cant coordinate and they play for themselves”

“England played well but Germany played amazing”

I think the referee was bribed”

“Germany had 6 chances to score and they scored 4 goals.”

The Germans were only passing the ball around to get the players mixed up and when they found someone free, the passed the ball and they scored”.

The Germans were playing old fashioned football-taking all their chances well and left James starstruck.

It was quite embarrassing for me, Ranvir, because I think it was all about confidence. There is something about England as a country that takes away people’s confidence. The newspapers are always picking on successful people, and the English public love t say nasty things about people who are more successful than them. I think this attitude makes it very hard for English footballers to wear the England shirt with confidence. They don’t believe in themselves, the German team did believe in themselves even though they have no “great” players or superstars.

England’s team chemistry and work were terrible, they couldn’t tell what their own teammates were going to do and would lose the ball easily.

I agree that English teamwork is bad. English football is based on football stars. They play in clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United but don`t have much experience play in the national English team.

Also referee wasn`t really good. When it was 2-1 and Lampard shot into the goal the referee didn`t see and made it a no goal. Otherwise it was 2-2 and then it was second half and the Germans and English would change tactics and the outcome might be different.
