Food for Friday
On Friday, from 9:00 – 10:00, Year 6 students are invited to bring in some food for all of us to share. Usually, people bring big bags of chips, cakes, bottles of Coke and Sprite and all sprts of other unhealthy things. I would like us to do things quite differently because I am a fan of food and I know you are too!
So, on Friday, please bring in either:
- A dish that is very typical of your country/culture
- Something that you have cooked yourself
- Your absolute favourite dish
- Something from your favourite restaurant
Please don’t bring too much food, it is such a shame when food gets wasted at these parties. Just bring enough for about 5-8 people to have a little bit of it.
I can’t wait to try some of this delicious food… it’s so much better than stuffing chips into our faces and drinking too much Coke!
Make a comment to tell us what you are thinking of bringing.

Me and my Mum are taking in brownies.
She told me the recipe and I did everything like sturring and stuff
Sounds good… do you reckon you could make them on your own now?
DANG IT I alredy am bringing chips oh well 😦 I might be able to bring some other food.
Oh W8 I can birng in cookies
I’m still not sure what I will take. I will ask my mum today. But I probably think we will bring some cakes.
Actually I’m think I might bring something else but I’m not sure yet.
I think that I will bring in some pizza from my favourite restaurant basilico I might also get thier lasnga. But I am not completely sure of what to bring in this friday.
OMG I love basilco pizza
Theyve got the worst food to be honest. I’d rather eat by the streets even though I love italian food.
The pizza would be nice, but not as nice as………………..
Samosas!
I am planning to bring brownies or otherwise a sweet which is cereal mixed with marshmallows because if I bring something thai I would be hard to bring since the Thai sweets have coconut milk so it is hard to bring to school. I’m scared it will rot. Anyways brownies are easy because I already have chocolate in my fridge + other ingredients since I just did brownies this week. I might as well bring some sticky rice because it is my favorite thing.
Lots of ideas here. The Thai sweets would be good!
First of all, I might not come on Friday but if I do, I’ll bring:
1. A Lasagna 😀 😀
2. Roti 🙂
3. Chicken Tenders [Tony Romas] 😀
4. Homemade Lamington 😀 🙂
I might not come because I have a prayer ceremony to attend- it’ll finish at about
11pm so I might as well not come.
The roti sounds really good. You’d better be here.
I will get oatmeal cookies that my mom and I made.
O_0
Those sound pretty healthy!
I am planning to bring Idian sweets and maybe samosa.
Sounds very tasty. What Indian sweets – Jelabi?
Oh theyre the best. And it isnt jelabi, its jalebi.
I might also bring Sushi
I think that I might even bring in some thai food but like I said I am not sure.
I have just one word for you: samosas… your Mum’s “mostdeliciousinthewholeworld” samosas!
I think I will bring
Homemade chocolate chip cookie
kimbob
chiken nugets(mabye)
Great! Don’t bring too many things… maybe just the Kimbob as I think a lot of people are bringing sweet stuff.
I am coming on Friday and what I might bring is:
1. a traditional Dutch type of drink (which is a special syrup mixed with water).
2. I might bring spaggheti bolognaise (made with help)
3. Pizza (favourite dish)
4. Home-made sandwhich (different flavours and self made)
5. Home made blueberry miffins
6. Homemade pancakes
7. Homemade meatballs
8. Home-made cous-cous (a delicious Saudi-Arabian dish)
These all sound deeeeeeeelicious. But don’t bring more than one thing – it will be too much work!
Mr.Sam I am bringing the drink and cous-cous. but I’ll need to warm up the cous-cous before theparty is that OK?
It should be possible to put it in the microwave in the staff room.
We both planning to bring Nacho’s and cheese and maybe mini tacos.
We might bring in nacho’s and cheese from sunrise taco’s and maybe we will also bring some homemade mini tacos.
Mmmm… nachos and cheese sounds very good.
I am thinking of bringing in salad that i will make or either different indian sweets than Nikki. It will be good to also have something from my religion/culture.
Salad is quite hard to eat without proper forks and stuff. Can you make something from your culture that is not sweet and is easy to eat?
I really like the idea of making things by myself from maybe a bit of guidance. I have been thinking of bringing salad or either indian sweets that arent the same as Nikki’s.
The only problem with salads is they are not easy to eat. What is your absolute favourite food?
I will have to get back to you on that. I am going to talk with my parents about what I can make so it would be a lot of meaning that is also easy to eat.
Good thinking!
Sorry this comment was by Rosna. It got mixed up when you try logging in.
I’m not sure what I will bring since we can’t bring in chips, so I’ll ask my dad. I might bring some cookies but I am still not sure.
HI
I am still thinking about what 2 bring
I may bring in pork and sticky rice or chicken and sticky rice
