Melzer downs Djokovic in 5 hour marathon

Unseeded Austrian Jurgen Melzer came back from 2 sets down to hand Djokovic a ticket to the plane.  This match finished 3-6 2-6 6-2 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 at 9:53 pm French time after 5hr 15min of solid tennis. Melzer was the first Austrian to reach the semis since Thomas Muster in 1985.  The 29 year old from Vienna will now meet Rafa Nadal, the king of clay. Melzer’s performance against the world no.3 proved that age isnt a barrier and for other older players, its no excuse saying “I’m old now, I got tired mid-way”. On the other half, Sweden Sledge-Hammer Robin Soderling faces Tomas Berdych. Soderling, the only man who has successfully beaten Nadal is the Federer fans’ only hope now.

P.S. I’ve met the 3rd seed before 😀
