Homework Part One: Who could win, who might lose?

If you are able to change your issue the way you want to change it, to create the future you want to see… who could make money? Who might lose money?

Who could make money?

What business ideas could people come up with? How could people make a profit? How will people save money? What jobs could be created?

Who might lose money?

What businesses will fall apart? What businesses will need to change? Who will make a loss? Who will lose money? Who might lose their jobs?

There could be more people selling nature. I think there will be new car companies because people will be buying more electric cars. You can sell the cars more expencive and you can make a profit. The people who sells normal cars can fall apart because people will start buying electric cars. Maybe also the people who sells the little machine that cleans the air because the world has many nature. (first the michine will sell alot because everyone is thinking to clean the air.) Again the car company that sells normal cars that is killing us will need to change to electric cars because people will stop buying. (The electric cars will look like normal cars.) In the jobs the people who works the least will get fired the first. Then when it gets too bad the job need to be gone for everyone.

Will people start buying electric cars if they are expensive?

Interesting points of view remember that most inventions regarding new technology in the motor industry are owned by those same companies.

People come up with more renewable energy sources and devices that could be much smaller and more electricity is produced from the fact that the world is always innovating. Solar panels will be much cheaper and the amount of watts per 1 increases. People could make lots of money since there will be more people using renewable energy as a result. Obviously, many people who use renewable energy can have their money back in a few years since it lowers their electricity bills. Jobs such as maintenance for solar panels, wind turbines etc.

The most important business that is going to fall apart is the oil companies. They clearly have to change the way their oil is produced and the mining of the oil. Oil transportation companies will also go out of business as they will have less oil to transport and they will also improve the environment situation of not using more oil. Oil workers will get the effect of not able to find any jobs.

        Hello Mr. Sam,

People working in oil companies could work in the Provincial Electricity Authority that is supporting renewable energy right now.

Do you know what batteries are made from?
Could this resource provide employment for ex oil workers?

Good arguments…..do you know what batteries are made from? Could this be a new source of employment for oil exploration workers?

MAKE: NIST will make money the most because if racism stops here, other people from other schools would want to come and apply at NIST as they know they will be happy here. More jobs like Persuader can be created to lure people to apply here at NIST.

LOSE: Other schools E.g. RIS will lose money because all of their students will leave and come to a happier and more fun place where there is no fights. It is also possible that RIS will close down! 😀

During my presentation I will tell people who come I will tell them some ways we can decrease the amount of water used at home, so if they do the things then they will save money because they won’t have to pay as much money for the water bill.
    People who own:
    Family marts
will get lots of money because they sell water and people need water to survive so people just keep on buying water so they wouldn’t get dehydrated.

People who use too much water at home will waste money because they will have to pay more for the water bill every month. In the future people will waste more water since we are already wasting water and if no one is going to change then its going to keep on being wasted and so in the future water will be REALLY expensive.

    Who makes money:
The court because if you find out who the bully is you might sue them.
If you sue them you might make some money.
To sue someone you will need to have a lawyer which also costs money.
The SMS and calling company might get more money because they might have more friends and then that person will make more calls and SMS’s which costs money.
And I think you need internet connection to call and/or SMS so the internet company will get some money.
Maybe more people like him so people come over and then he might want some playing equipment and then the toy store gets money and the factory will get more money.
Maybe he’ll like to have games for on the computer which costs money.

    What business could I start:
I could start a school that teaches you how to deal with cyber bullying.
I can start a type of Childnet International type of organization.

    Who will lose money:
The bully might lose money because he might get sued.
The computer company might lose money because the parents might think “Oh no, were not going to buy that brand” if the company is smart then they can add extra software’s for extra safety.
    What business will fall apart:
I don’t think any business will fall apart.

Facebook would have to uprgrade your site and make it safe, reliable and it should have high secruity settings for people to view safely. I have researched on how Facebook makes money. They advertise ads or advertise their own ads but also they give people facebook avatars. They might also make money by taking information from Facebook members and using that information to give to companies for them to know what product people like. So basicily it means that Facebook is selling information to companies for them to know what people use or like. Having the internet already creates new opprotunities for people as well that it is also changing our life-styles and how we communicate.

I am thinking that predators and hackers might lose money and their jobs because of Facebook creating a new and safe way of communicating on the Internet. The the Hackers will always try to try new technology to hack into people’s account and use their personal information for their own benefit. So Facebook might have to turn some of their profit to help the Facebook Members and allowing them to use Facebook safely.

Some jobs that could be created are people monitiring the rivers and the seas of Thailand to control the pollution, people who have to check places that are being built and fine people who are not following the Building Act and Factory Act (LAWS)

What business ideas could people come up with?
People could come up with new ideas on how to treat polluted water so that its safe to enter the water shed, the rivers and eventually the gulf of Thailand.
Maybe someone could design/create eco friendly dyes…..Have you ever thought about where the NIST uniformas are made, is the factory eco-friendly, does the factory comply with all environmental laws? or should NIST find a new eco-friendly supplier?

I think that tourisim might loose money because people won’t want to go to the beach or come to beaches in Thailand because of the polluted water (no swimming, snorkling, scuba diving). Also more importnaly places on the coast, e.g.Sattahip, depend on fishing for a living, this is disappearing! how will communities survive in the futer??

  8. April 22, 2010 at 5:34 pm

People come up with new plastic bags that help the environment. For example, Biodegradable plastic bags. It only makes a tiny difference to the environment because it’s still the same as normal plastic bags but it makes people feel okay of what they are doing to Thailand. I think that it’s not that great ideas to make new supermarket bags that are still a lot harmful to us and Thailand. Cloth bags would be a lot better. People will save money by using the same cloth bag continuously so the payment of the plastic bags won’t have to make the cost much higher for the costumers. Jobs could be created to manufacture/produce cloth bags instead of plastic ones, cloth logo sewers if the supermarkets are the ones to provide them and costumers get discount for bringing it back.

The factory businesses that will might fall apart because they are a special factory that only makes plastic bags. The plastic bag factories and industries would have to think creatively and make a change to making something that people would use like cloth bags. Supermarket employee’s will lose money because when we contacted an organization today they said that if the employee’s don’t provide plastic bags their money earned will drop down. If everyone starts using their own cloth bags, than plastic bag factories would have to shut down and the loads of workers would have to try really hard finding other jobs. The workers always get really less money anyways so it will be worse for their happiness and health.

Saving the endangered animals could be a new business. They can make profit by askung for donations. To save money, they can ask for volunteers because they work for free and don’t have to pay their salary. They can create jobs by increasing the number of those endangered animals.
If we save endangered animals, then hunters can’t hunt them and sellers can’t sell animals and they can’t get money. And also hunters can’t get money too. I think seller might be loss, because if hunters can hunting and they don’t sell to sellers and they can’t get money. I think hunters are might lose their jobs, because if we save endangered animals and they can’t hunt(job) the animals.

    Who will win (gain money):
I think that solar companies will gain quite a bit of money because people will start to use renewable energy more and the most convienient type of renewable energy is solar power. And like Ping ping said the cost of solar panels and other types of renewable energy will become cheaper because more people will want to buy them. Also the citizens will make have to spend less (at least the ones who start to buy and install solar panels in their homes so then they won’t have to pay for their electricity bills every month.

People who will change I think that coal companies will change to making them selves much more efficient. For example: 1kg of coal will produce more electricity than it used to. I also think that oil companies will make biodiesel to make themselves look more eco-friendly.

    Who will lose:
I think that the people that will lose are the oil companies if they don’t change and think wisley. Same goes for the coal companies.

lose:the oil company will be having to lose more money because of people will save more electricity and they oil factories will give up.

  12. April 22, 2010 at 6:23 pm

make:the us we can stop buying endangerd animals it makes us save more money and you don’t have to worrying about you might get caught.and the smugglers they can get better job then now so it’s not illgle. we don’t have to waste plastic bags or paper bags

loose:I think the gangs or the selllers will be out of bussiens and the resturant who used sell endangerd animals they might run out of their buassines also the avertisement factories have an effect to not sell the avert anymore
and the the bag company also have effect

  13. April 22, 2010 at 7:44 pm

    Who makes money:
Hybrid Car Companies would get good money and if there was a company that could sell solar powered cars or electricity powered cars. Maybe some fuel company that does not sell oil. If that really makes sense

    Who looses money:
I think the people who loose money are the people that work in oil companies, Car companies that are fuel or petrol.

Winners : Hydroponics company, Hydroponics users. There will be more jobs for people because people can now farm in cities. Hydroponics company will make a lot of profit and many people who have hydroponics make money.

There is a big list of people who get less profit:

Oil, Water and Electric Companies, Delivery, Pesticides, Fertilizers, Fungicides companies, Delivery, Trucks companies, Supermarkets and food stores, Packaging and Refridgerator companies.

The inventors who invents energy saving products. And maybe sell their ideas to other business and companies or can make and sell the products. People would save money by paying lesser to the electricity bills because energy saving appliances saves a lot of energy compared to non energy saving items. The company and producers that makes energy saving products will make more money. If more people knew and use renewable energy there will be more companies which make the products and supply renewable energy source. I think solar panels would sell really well because the environment is getting hotter and hotter and solar panels uses a lot of sun. The power plant companies will still earn money but not as much as before because if people use less electricity, less money is wasted. But that kind means that they don’t have to pay for the oil that much oil for producing electricity. Oil prices are getting higher and higher because it’s a finite resource and it possibly run out 50-75 years. The Oil and fossil fuel mining would still get the money but not as much as before. They will have to pump out lesser of the amount of oil they have to dig because people might use renewable energy or uses lesser electricity.
The non renewable electricity producers will start losing the amount of money compared to when they have made before. But the profit will be lower. Also the mining fossil fuel and oil companies they will have lesser profit compared to before because people use less and the electricity producing companies won’t have to use that much. Possibly some countries loose parts of their money because they get the money from oil and fossil fuel mining. Some organizations can lose sponsorship because the awareness is already made. Maybe some movie stars, producers, artists can lose some money because they don’t have any more theories that the world might end like 2012 because the heat and environment is getting better and better.

I forgot to add: When electrciity producing factories lose some money, some workers might have to loose jobs and find a new one. Or maybe their salary would go lower.

If all the people who are commercial fishing or fishing in any other way that could lead to extinction of marine animals would be given the option of getting out of business or changing to sustainable fishing I’m sure they would choose the latter. The people who are already fishing in sustainable ways would make a profit. A lot of money would be saved from fish farms because people wouldn’t need them. That would make more jobs for people who were poor because they know how to fish. And while you are out in the sea fishing sustainably then you need to catch fish with a rod, so there can’t be 1 person doing all the work.

Companies who don’t change will lose a lot of money. All the unsustainable fisheries would have to change. The people who are commercial fishing might lose their jobs.

I think that the people who will gain money would be people who earn big places such as the water company, the bottling company, the sealing and packing company and the cap company. Other places that would earn money would be 7 eleven, supermarkets, 24 hour shops such as minimarts and family marts because these places sell water to the community and everyone, in fact every living thing on earth needs water to live so they will be able to sell a lot of water and earn a lot of money, if people don’t buy water, they will get dehydrated and die in the end. People can make profit by selling things more expensive when they sell it in the shops, then they will earn profit, profit can be just up to 5 baht but that is still profit. I want to see a future that everyone is happy, is healthy, I don’t want people dehydrated and to avoid all of this, the answer is actually very obvious, we have to save water, if we want to be healthy, we have to drink a lot of water, if we want to stay healthy and not get sick then you will need to drink water and if you don’t want to be dehydrated, then you have to drink water, but if there is not water, then how will we be all of these things.
People who will lose money would be people who use water carelessly or in other words, people who waste water because if we use a lot of water, their water bills will have to increase and they will have to pay more money. If there is no water, businesses that will have to close down would be the water company, the bottle company, the cap company, the sealing company and the packing company because without water, they can’t do anything so in the end, the business will just have to close down. The people who would lose their jobs would be people who work in the factories because if the factories close down, they won’t need anyone working for them anymore. Another group of people who will lose their jobs would be the people who work in the companies because if the factories close down then the company will have to close too. The people who work for the company will have to lose their jobs.
In the future, water will be very expensive because it will become very scarce. If we want water to still be able for us to afford to buy, then we have to use less of water, we have to use water only when it is necessary. Water is the most vital natural resource we have and without it, we know what is going to happen. If we start doing things now, things won’t become too late. We will still be able to live a little longer. We need to start doing things now before it’s too late.

    Hi Ness

Your posting caught my attention! In Thailand the electricity authorities in remote areas use Solar power for customers such as my brother in law in Chiang Rai. The cost of cabels and posts would be too much to get electricity to him. So maybe as companies have to renew cables they could start using solar panels instead in Thailand? The cost of these panels is falling now that they are no longer just imports. I think you will find that they are getting ready for change.
