Bisac U11 Soccer tournament NIST
Bisac U11 Soccer tournament
Introduction:
NIST Falcons joined Bisac under11 soccer for the first time. The NIST Falcons had six teams going to the tournament. They were A, B, C1, C2 and 2 girls teams. We had trained for 8 weeks. As the NIST field rose we got to use the artificial pitch and it became much easier to train.
Then just 3 weeks before tournament the A-team needed some experience so Ms. Jane and Mr. Sam organized some matches against year sevens and u13 girls. This helped us a lot with our movement and passing. It also helped us with Formation in A teamour fitness.
On the 5th of February all the NIST teams which include sixty kids and the coaches met up at NIST and went as a team to Bangkok Patana School (BPS). As we reached BPS we all gathered and got ready for our first match.
NIST VS BIST
It started well for the NIST falcons as the A-Team won their first match 4-0 against BIST with a hat trick from Sebi and a goal from Billy. Our defenders played a good game but could have improved on not letting any of the opponents get behind them. Johan went storming up and down the right and Aayush doing some beautiful passing. Rossi could have come back a bit more but when we were attacking he was storming up as well. Sebi was doing a great job upfront and getting a hat trick with him. Billy showed what he could do and scored a beautiful goal. Vikrant made some good saves and kept a clean sheet. After our first games everyone in the A-team were in a good mood. Then everyone had something to eat and drinks so they would have energy for the next match.
As our second games approached all the teams were training hard because we were facing hard competition. Some boys in the NIST A-Team new some players in the Harrow squad and new they’re playing style.
NIST VS HARROW
When the A-Team faced Harrow they won a comfortable win 4-1 with 2 goals from Johan, 1 from Sebi and 1 from Aayush. In this game the defenders shouldn’t have let some players behind because it conceded harrows goal. But Vikrant played a good game and made some very impressive saves. Up front we all played well in our passing game and the harrow defenders couldn’t keep up with it.
After the second game the A-Teams heads were up as they were going to face one of the best team in the tournament which was ISB. We needed to win this game because we didn’t want to face Patana in the semifinals.
NIST VS ISB
As the game against ISB began NIST couldn’t really get there rhythm and their passing game done. Then out of nowhere the ISB team scored and they were leading 1-0. NIST kept fighting until the half time where Mr. Sam our coach gave us an encouraging talk that got us pumped up and ready for the next half. In the second half we got our rhythm back but still didn’t play that well. Then Aayush did a perfect pass straight to Sebi who flicked it through the goalkeeper’s legs and scored. We then concentrated on our defense and we were lucky that ISB hit the post and didn’t go in. Luckily the final score was 1-1 and we won our group by goal difference.
We were all happy about our group stage performance but then in the Semi-Final we had to face the tough team Shrewsbury.
NIST VS SHREWSBURY (SEMIFINAL)
The semi finals started with both teams playing well. Our opponents played very well and at half time the score was 0-0. Then Johan got substituted to have a rest and on came Billy. It was a perfect substitution because 2 minutes after Billy had come on he scored a wonderful goal into the bottom left corner. Then Palmy from Shrewsbury scored and the game went to penalties. Where Mr. Sam chose Billy, Johan and Sebi to take the penalties. Vikrant then saved Shrewsbury’s last penalty and Johan then easily sank it into to the net and NIST were through to the final.
Everyone was incredibly happy and Billy, Sebi and Johan were even happier because they all scored a penalty.
Then we had to get ready for our toughest game of the tournament. We were facing BPS. In this game Mr. Sam told the team that Aayush was going to man mark Tenali and Calvin was told to man mark Ethan.
NIST VS BPS (FINAL)
As the rough game went on BPS had all the possession and scored a goal. NIST then woke up and attacked much more but couldn’t get a goal with them. Calvin then accidently did a hand ball in NISTS penalty area and Patana got a penalty. Though it was a good penalty vik still managed to save it and kept our hopes alive. Then in the second half we attacked again and Calvin had a really good chance of scoring but still couldn’t get it in the net. Then Aayush got subbed for Billy and Billy also played well. In the end we couldn’t get our goal and sadly we lost the big final against patana.
Medal Ceremony
In the end we were happy because we reached our goal which was to reach the final. Then we had the medal ceremony were we got our medals and NIST A-Team got the runners up trophy.
Thankings
We would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Jane and Mr. Sam for giving us the opportunity to be able to play in this special tournament and for coaching us.
From the A-team

Federer Wins!!
Federer just won his 16th grandslam and was declared winner of Australian open 2010. He was playing against Murray and beat him 6-3 6-4 and 7-6 (tie break score 13-11). Even though it was just three sets, it was when of the most exciting three sets I’ve ever watched. It lasted more than 2 and a half hours and it was really fun to watch them play.
P.S if I didn’t make this post Ranvir would have made it.
Influenced
I am influenced by the tennis star and world no.1 Roger Federer. He has influenced me by making me want to become a good tennis player like him. The main part that I want to learn from him is to never give up even when youre no 2 for 1 year [he was]. I also want to become calm like him and not impatient like most of the time. He is my role model and my new goal is to become calm like him. Hopefully I can achieve that later in my life.
About me Sasha
I am 10 years old. My birthday is on December 5th. My favourite sports are swimming and basketball. My favourite colours are most shades of blue and most other shades of green (mostly different shades of light green and lime green.) I really like staying around nature and it also makes me feel calm. I have 1 dog and his name is Figo and I have a monkey. I like going to the beach with my family, the most enjoyable beach I went to with my family is Koh Samet.
About a Fantastic Fencer
I found out about a very great and fine fencer that is first place in Thailand. Willi had a very hard life since when he started fencing but he stepped on to becomming Thailand’s first place and Willi now holds position 27 in the world. I think that he is an idol for me and he really pumped me up for liking fencing. Fencing teaches us agility and speed in your legs and the strength in your wrist. It also changes your courage level into a more couragous mind. If you have any questions, you can research about it and you will be surprised. Willi even has his own website check it out! You can watch this fencing video.
