Tokyo

I’m having a very good time in Tokyo. We’ve done lot’s of sightseeing but for me it wasn’t really boring like usual because I had my camera with me. You will start seeing new Photos appear in Flickr when I get back because I left my cable to upload Photos in Bangkok. Which set should I put  my Tokyo Photos in?

It’s really cold here but I like it that way, because the air is so fresh and it is really really clean air.

Tokyo is basically the opposite of Bangkok, everything is in order and the sidewalks are very very wide and most places in the city are very convenient for blind people.

In Tokyo all drivers totally respect all the pedestrians and are very careful towards them. Even as a biker they would be extremely careful of you even if you were bicycling in the middle of the road against the traffic direction, but if you did that in Thailand you would be dead within 2 minutes.

Japan is a very high-tech country. You should see the Toilets! They have a heated toilet seats and next to the Toilet seat they have a whole load of buttons with which you can get water sprayed at your but and then get it dryed again with a dryer that comes out of the toilet. I haven’t really been brave enough to press any of them yet because the buttons are in Japanese.

We usually travel by underground train there are 13 underground train lines and many many other train lines in Tokyo, but in Bangkok there are 3 BTS lines and 1 MRT line.

This is the view out of my dad’s breakfast room. The picture is not so good quality because I left my camera cable in Bangkok so I took a picture with the camera of our laptop.

In this image the brighter the spots on the world map are the more facebook is being used in that part of the world, and the lines show which people are in contact with each other and the brighter the lines are the stronger they are in contact with people.

Andy Goldsworthy

today in art we looked at 2 videos which recorded Andy Goldworthy’s Art. I think his artwork is great and I think that it was a very good idea of Mr. Josh to show this to us so that we could get inspired for our own Artwork. But Andy Goldworthy’s art isn’t the type of Art we are going to do in Art class we are not going to do something as big as this but we have a chance to take his ideas and turn them around.

I think that what Andy Goldworthy is doing is a great way for him to express himself because people really see your personality. I think that if people know about your personalities without you telling them verbally or over technical communication then that is very very powerful.

I have been thinking about if I have anything that shows my personality and after a bit of thinking I thought of course my picture of me reading my book really expresses my personality because:

1. I really love reading especially in English

2. One of my favorite authors is Louis Sachar

3. The title of the book shows people what type of books I like which then shows what my interests are.

I thought a bit more and then it came to my mind that I express myself every time I say something and the way I act.

I also thought I express my self every time I draw a picture and every time I make any other type of Art I am expressing myself.

I could get thousands of ideas of how I express myself if I kept thinking but I also want to think about how and with what I want to express myself in the future.

I think that I want to express myself much more through Art, Drama, and Music during this unit.

In art I would like to do a lot of Photography and in Drama I would like to act verbally but I would also like to do some Mimes and I don’t want to do one long act I would like to do a few small acts in which I express very powerful messages. In music I would like to start playing an instrument and have a lesson every week and I would like to keep up my singing.

My Interview with a Parent

I took a video of me interviewing my sick mom sorry her voice isn’t very loud because I passed a soar throat onto her. I did in German so I put some subtitles in I think they’re pretty clear and hope you can read fast enough. (I spent an hour on editing this movie and putting subtitles on it it’s hard work!!)

Being organized and meditating often reduces stress.

Untidyness can easily make us feel frustrated, uneasy or overwhelmed.We feel demotivated with not being able to find what we need. When we clean up after ourselves and meditate to be more calm we feel much more as if we are in control of our life. You also feel powerful and you feel powerful and you feel likeyou are strong enough to cope with life’s challenges. Being organized and meditating enables us to work more efficiently.

Being organized and meditating boosts our motivation.

Inspiration is most likely to be stopped when you work in an unpleasant environment.  As well as feeling baffled you feel really down as if you are carrying a big weight with you. When you are then getting organized again and putting away stuff you start feeling much better and motivated to do activities.

Being organized and meditating frees up your time, energy and focus.

some people think that being organized takes up all of your free time. For people who have other people cleaning up after them might think this sounds true, but the truth is the opposite. If you aren’t organized you have to waste time looking for things.

Sundials

Another way to tell the time without zero is a sundial clock. This clock shows the time by the shadows. for how long do you think sundials have been in use? Have a guess or try to find out.
