Asian Wake Park Tour – Second Stop (Singapore)
This is a video of the second stop of Asian Wake Park tour.
I got first place for Mens Amatuer Novice Wakeboard and Mens Wakeskate.
The guy who came second was the same guy who came second in the last stop.
For the last stop in the Philippines, I have to do Pro Wakeskate and advanced Wakeboard. The reason I did Novice was because my points kept adding on. For Wakeboard I won for both rounds and for Wakeskate, I lost the first round but won in the Finals.
I wakeboard and wake skate because it’s my hobby and I want to do this for the rest of my life. I started wakeboarding and wakeskating a year ago. I ride the Liquid Force Flx and the LTD Watson bindings. I usually ride from 9:00 in the morning til 8:00 in the night.
These are the trophies I won from the competition.
Our “Big Rocks” this week…
Acting it out
We have started using our role-play area to act out some scripts that were written for homework last week. The theme of the scripts is “wisdom” and each role-play is supposed to show wisdom in action, people becoming more wise or some other issues related to wisdom.
These is some of the advice that I gave the students after watching them today:
- Don’t be yourself when acting, really act like someone else. This shows your ability to empathize and take your role seriously
- Don’t make role-plays with serious messages funny or ridiculous as, when you do, people completely miss your message
- Be ready to change and adapt your script if people are absent or involved in another role-play
- Be very careful when you use humour. Humour can be very powerful, but it can also destroy a drama.
Setting up for Science!
Next week, you will have the chance to set up and conduct your own science experiments. In order to do this, you will need a plan and the materials to be used in the experiment.
This week, select an experiment to do in school by looking at the websites below or by looking at books that you find at home or in the library. Select an experiment that will be simple enough to do and that will give you the chance to think and work like a scientist. Don’t just choose experiments that are “fun” but which don’t really seem to be that scientific.
Make a comment to tell us which experiment you want to do, where you found it and what materials you will need.
Why not try some experiments this weekend – you have four days off school! Blow us away by being scientists at home and share what you do on Flickr.
