Germany 4-1 England-set up Argentina clash
Germany hammered England 4-1 at Free State Stadium yesterday to set up a meeting with Argentina in the last 8 next saturday. I went around this morning interviewing people about the England loss at Summer School and here are what some said:
“England have the best players in the world but they cant coordinate and they play for themselves”
“England played well but Germany played amazing”
I think the referee was bribed”
“Germany had 6 chances to score and they scored 4 goals.”
The Germans were only passing the ball around to get the players mixed up and when they found someone free, the passed the ball and they scored”.
The Germans were playing old fashioned football-taking all their chances well and left James starstruck.
Korea and United States Dumped Out
South Korea’s dream run came to an end when Luis Suarez scored a goal to put Uruguay through by 2 goals to 1. Although they didnt manage the quarters, their home fans must be really proud of their progress. On the other hand, Ghana knocked America out with an extra time goal from Asamoah Gyan-Ghana through for the first time in history. President Obama was to make an appearance at Port Elizabeth yesterday but I dont know if he did.
3 day marathon comes to an end
Towering American John Isner beat Nicolas Mahut in a 3 day marathon match lasting 11hrs 3 mins. The last set was over 500 minutes and the classic score was 80-78. 193 aces overall with Isner serving 106 of them was included.
I wonder how he’ll last.
England and Germany to reignite rivalry this Sunday
Fabio Capello’s England and Joachim Loew’s Germany will meet in a thriller knockout stage match this Sunday. Both teams are aware of each other’s threats such as Klose, Podolski and Shweinsteiger for Germany and Rooney, Defoe and Gerrard for England. Some possible apprearances are Nelson Mandela, former German legend Carsten Jancker, Geoff Hurst and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish.

Federer comes back from the dead-hopes it doesnt happen again today
Roger Federer came back to beat Colombian Alejandro Falla 5-7, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-0 in 3 hr 30 min first round scare. The King of Grass says that he hopes to avoid a similar situation when he faces Ilija Bozolijac today. Federer’s record on comebacks is almost perfect. It is 5 out of 6-his only loss like that came in 2008 to Nadal.

Higuain Haul sends Argentina through group stage
Hi,
I just thought of trying to see how many posts have people posted. I have absolutely no idea how I thought of the idea. I’m serious.
OTHER NEWS:
SOCCER: England race to another draw with Algeria which keeps them in third and a must win match against in-form Slovenia is required to stay safe from the drop-zone. The only team that is confirmed a place in the last 16 is Argentina who have 2 wins no draws no losses. To get in, you need minimum 5 points and maximum 9 [means wins]. Argentina have 6 points. The second closest is a surprising Uruguay who have four and share it with Slovenia. Both the teams have to force a draw at the least to avoid a slip. South Africa have said goodbye to the tournament after a 3-0 hammering to Uruguay. Their only hopes to get back in the race is to win France 4-0 which is impossible. Gonzalo Higuain;s hatrick have sent Argentina through despite a extremely tough qualifying campaign.
