What do you guys think of this picture below. Do you think what this kid is doing is right? Who do you blame? Explain. I think that this kid’s parents didnt teach him anything or either he was taught but he didnt listen. Maybe this kid is from a slum and he is illiterate and didnt go to school because of the lack of money. This does connect to Bibi’s lucky quote in Boy Overboard

Maybe the parents of this child do not know how bad cigarettes are.

This is a bit surprising to me, at such a young age and smoking a cigarette. I know that around the world people are poor and have problems. I think that they dont have enough money to afford teaching and his parents have to work for money. So it seems like hes alone and hungry. People have been saying that when they smoke a cigarette, that it tastes good and they feel good but its actually distroying our lungs. I dont think this boy knows that its not good for the body.
I never seen such a young poor kid smoking cigarette. It is really surprising and shocking for me. I agree with Rosna that it destroys you lungs. Smoking cigarette is not only destroy your lungs but it also pollute because of smoke coming out.
I agree with rosna and I think that maybe the parents smoke everyday and maybe once the mom or dad gave the cigarette to the child and the child got addicted to it. Maybe the family has not in off money and they treat the cigarette like food or maybe even its sort of like what babys suck on and maybe the parents dont know how to shhh the baby so they just stuffed it into its mouth without knowing its bad. Sometimes when your working too hard you turn a little crazy.
I think it isn’t the kid’s fault because he is young and don’t know what is right or wrong. It is more of his parents/the person that looks after him fault. Also I think it is because they don’t have money for good education so he doesn’t know smoking is bad espially when you are young.

Firstly, congratulations for doing such a thought-provoking Blog posting.
Secondly, I think it is possible that this child has learned to smoke by watching the adults around him. The way he is holding the cigarette even shows that he has learned how to do it from “experts”. In some places, people are still not aware of the dangers of smoking and so it is still quite normal for people to smoke. I don’t think that it is normal for children his age to smoke anywhere though.
